Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week is our last week of the 2015-2016 school year. Tomorrow, Tuesday June 21st is our last day of school. Tomorrow is a minimum day with early release at 12:45. With the last day of school there are a couple of reminders. First, please make sure to pick up lost and found items as all items left will be donated over the summer.   Also coming home tomorrow with students will be all student report cards. Please make sure to check your child’s backpack for those reports. Over summer don’t forget to keep reading and practicing your math. Dreambox and Raz Kids are still available over summer so please feel free to utilize these accounts for your students to practice. Tomorrow we are so excited and proud to be celebrating our 5th graders promoting to middle school. Promotion will begin at 9:00 am in the MPR, with light refreshments to follow. Doors will open for seating at the office at 8:10 am. 5th grade students may leave after promotion with their families. Please make sure to sign out your child in their classrooms after promotion and pick up their report card and promotion certificate. We wish all of our fifth graders the best of luck in 6th grade next year, we will miss you! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer and we look forward to seeing you back in September for the 2016-2017 school year. Have a great summer Meadowlark, we will see you next year!!

Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have three Super Scholars to announce, Paisley Hulbert recognized by Ms. Sutliff as well as Brooklyn Jensen and Bridgette Fay from Mrs. Hamilton’s class. Congratulations to these scholars, we are so proud of you. This week is our last full 5-day week of the 2015-2016 school year. I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to everyone that made it out to Open House, the Science and Book fair last Wednesday. It was an awesome night with lots of students to be proud of! I wanted to recognize and thank all of the students that participated in Science Fair and wanted to congratulate our winners.

  Coming up this week we have our ASMO Spring Concerts. Tonight is night one for Mrs. Chun, Kubasak/Trevillyan, Hamilton, Trusel, Wollman, Engler, Wheeler and Fernandez’s classes. From 5:00-6:00 there will be a taco cart with food available for purchase. Please have students report to the front office doors at 6:10 for entrance to classrooms. All adults and families will enter through the side MPR doors. Tickets will be sold at the door and the show will start at 6:30. Then on Wednesday will be night two with performances by Mrs. Sheldon, Scheidig, Cox, Pelham, Sutliff, Huneycutt and Alva’s classes. We hope you can join us for a great show to end the year. Our last reminder is if you or you know someone that has an incoming Kindergarten student please turn in all paperwork to the Meadowlark office by June 30th for enrollment for next year. Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have one Super Scholar to announce, Sophia Balliger recognized by Mrs. Wheeler’s class. Congratulations to this scholar, we are so proud of you. This week we have a full 5-day week. Wednesday we have a minimum day with early release at 12:45 due to Open House. We hope you can join us for our annual Open House and Science Fair. The Science Fair and Book Fair will be open from 5:00-6:30 in the MPR and library. Then our classrooms will be open from 6:30-7:30. We hope you can join us and have your children show off all their hard work this school year. Also available at Open House are this year’s yearbooks. Yearbooks will be on sale for $30 cash at a table on Wednesday. Also please make sure to check the lost and found in front of school; we want to make sure that all items get returned to their owners before the end of the year. Looking into next year the PTO have several open chair seats still available on the board such as Treasurer. If you are interested please contact Suzy Ames our PTO president we would love your help and support. Save the date next week on Monday and Wednesday for the spring ASMO concerts we hope you can make it. Also this is the last week for the ASMO fundraiser torture Ms. Farley. Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have one Super Scholar to announce, Drew Kendall recognized by Mrs. Engler’s class. Congratulations to this scholar, we are so proud of you. This week we have school Tuesday-Friday and I hope you enjoyed your three day weekend with your families. We are now all finished with all state testing. Students may just be called to do make ups at this point. Thank you so much for all of your support over the last several weeks in getting your children to school for testing.  I wanted to send out a reminder to 5th grade parents to check your child’s backpack for important reminders. There have been notes coming home about 5th grade fun day, promotion and promotion speeches. Please contact the office for more information. I am so excited to announce that our very own 5th grade teacher Mrs. Chun has been named 2015-2016 Acton Agua Dulce Teacher of the Year. We are so excited and proud of her and look forward to celebrating her at our next board meeting on June 9th. A reminder to families to please check the lost and found in front of school, we want to make sure that all items get returned to their owners before the end of the year. Also a reminder that we have a great summer opportunity for summer school through the Excel Academy. Please see the office or your child’s backpack for a flyer or come to their table in the MPR on Open House next Wednesday for more information. Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have one Super Scholar to announce, August Crook from Mrs. Huneycutt’s class, recognized by Mrs. Cutler. Congratulations to this scholar, we are so proud of you. This week we have a full five-day week and encourage everyone to be at school and on time. This week our 3rd graders will be state testing Tuesday-Thursday on Mathematics. We encourage all students to be here everyday and on time for testing and to get a good nights sleep as well as have a full breakfast before school. A couple of reminders for events going on at Meadowlark, coming up on the evening of Wednesday, June 8th we will be holding our annual Open House and Science Fair and hope you mark your calendars and can attend. On this day we will also have a minimum day due to Open House. Coming up on Thursday this week it is our monthly spirit day. Students and staff are encouraged to dress up to show off their smarts with Nerd Day. For the last two months our school has been collecting pull-tabs. We have collected an overwhelming amount that we will be able to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. Congratulations to Mrs. Engler, Mrs. Fernandez and Mrs. Chun’s class for being the top three classes. We thank everyone for all of their participation and support in this give back. This week our 4th and 5th graders will be state testing Tuesday-Thursday on Mathematics. We encourage all students to be here everyday and on time for testing and to get a good nights sleep as well as have a full breakfast before school. A couple of reminders for events going on at Meadowlark, coming up on the evening of Wednesday, June 8th we will be holding our annual Open House and Science Fair. It is not too late to sign up for the Science Fair. If you are interested either stop by the office or talk to your child’s teacher for guidelines and a packet. ASMO’s fundraiser of Torture Ms. Farley is still going on. In the office there are several bins that you can vote and give a donation for what you would like to see me do all day on June 10th. This fundraiser runs through June 9th so get your vote in today. A friendly reminder to parents, we kindly ask that you refrain from using your cell phones during drop off and dismissal in order to ensure the safety of our students. Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have two Super Scholars to announce, Josie Blaha from Mrs. Cox’s class and Hartley Lundquist from Ms. Scheidig’s class. Congratulations to both of these scholars, we are so proud of you. This week we have a full five-day week and encourage everyone to be at school and on time. This week our 3rd graders will be state testing Tuesday-Friday and our 5th graders will be science testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. We encourage all students to be here everyday and on time for testing and to get a good nights sleep as well as have a full breakfast before school. Last week our school observed Staff Appreciation week. Thank you so much for the support that you showed to our amazing staff, it was greatly appreciated all week long. This week at the district office Math curriculum for next year will be available for preview and feedback. Several classes are in the process of piloting two different math curriculums that we will be adopting for next school year. We would love parent, staff and community feedback. Please feel free to stop by to take a look. A great opportunity will be available for all students K-8 this summer. There will be a free six-week summer program at High Desert School. This evening there is a parent meeting at 6:00 pm in the High Desert library for more information if you are interested. As our district prepares our upcoming LCAP plan we are seeking parents and community members to take our online survey to help us set goals for our students next year. If you are interested please go to the district website to give your feedback. Thank you in advance for taking the time to give your input. This week is the last week for the Pull Tab contest running in classrooms, please bring in all pull tabs by this Friday. Thank you for all of the support going to the Ronald McDonald foundation. Tomorrow is your last chance to fling into spring and send a flinging bug to your friends and teachers. All money and orders are due by Tuesday the 10th. Grams will be delivered this Thursday. This week we have a full five-day week and encourage everyone to be at school and on time. This week our 4th and 5th graders will be state testing Tuesday-Friday. We encourage all students to be here everyday and on time for testing and to get a good nights sleep as well as have a full breakfast before school. Also due to state testing our before school intervention classes have now come to a conclusion. We thank all of the students and families that participated. This week our school is observing Staff Appreciation week. We are recognizing all staff with little treats and surprises all week long. If you would like to show your appreciation to your classroom teacher or a staff member please feel free to do so! We love our staff here at Meadowlark.  Coming home this week is a flyer with information about previewing Math curriculum at our district office. Several classes are in the process of piloting two different math curriculums that we will be adopting for next school year. We would love parent, staff and community feedback. Good evening Meadowlark families. This is Ms. Farley, principal of Meadowlark School. This week we have two Super Scholars to announce, Jared Masamitsu from Mrs. Sheldon’s class and Madelynn Blane from Mrs. Chun’s class. Congratulations to both of these scholars, we are so proud of you. This week we have a full five-day week and encourage everyone to be at school and on time. Coming home in backpacks today are flyers for a summer camp opportunity of Camp Invention. Camp Invention will be held from June 27th-July 1st at Meadowlark School. It is a science camp held here on campus. Starting tomorrow at 8:10 we will be accepting applications for this year’s session. Due to generous donation from Boston Scientific the first 60 students registered are free. Applications will be taken on a first come first serve basis in the office. After 60 applications have been collected in the office then registration will be open for the price of $245. Please check your child’s backpack for flyers and applicaitons. Coming up for our 3rd-5th graders is our yearly state testing. Flyers have gone home in backpacks to inform families on exact testing dates for each grade level. Testing for our 4th and 5th grade students begin next Tuesday. We encourage all students to be here everyday and on time for testing. To ensure the best testing environment and success for students we want all students here everyday for testing. Our testing window will be from May 3rd-May 26th. Congratulations to both of these scholars, we are so proud of you. This week we have a full five-day week and encourage everyone to be at school and on time. Today our 5th grade students went to High Desert to get to know the campus and find out more about next year. This evening there will also be a parent meeting for more information on next year at High Desert from 6:00-7:00 in the MPR, we hope you can attend. Just a friendly reminder to please send back Lifetouch Spring pictures to school if you do not wish to purchase them at this time. The office is also accepting payments if you wish to purchase a package. Coming up in June is our annual Meadowlark Science Fair.
